Spent Batteries From U.S. Put Mexicans’ Health at Risk

The spent batteries Americans turn in for recycling are increasingly being sent to Mexico, where their lead is often extracted by crude methods that are illegal in the United States, exposing plant workers and local residents to dangerous levels of a toxic metal. They should solve this problem immediately because this is attempting against the health of the people.

  1. Victor -- Thanks for making sure I had your correct blog address! I've read all your posts, but am only commenting here. Good work, interesting choices. I agree about the Plan B pill. Plus, it costs $50 per dose, so that in itself should make it more difficult to get, at least for some people. I'd like to think as a preventive, it's available, though. Interesting dilemma, isn't it?
Best of luck in the next semester and always.
